Steve has over 30
years of experience in the medical device and pharmaceutical industry
(including wound care, general surgery, orthopaedics, haemodialysis, endoscopic
surgery and vascular products), with senior management roles in Research and
Development and general management including management of a California based joint
venture. Since 1990, working for Smith & Nephew, Steve has been engaged in
New Business Development: developing strategic plans for a worldwide business,
identifying, valuing, negotiating and delivering the acquisition of companies and
technologies, the formation of joint ventures, divestment of non-core
businesses, inward and outward licensing and formation of a variety of other
strategic alliances on a cross-border and worldwide basis, including USA, Japan
and Europe. Since 2004, Steve has established a successful business in a
personal consulting capacity advising and acting for clients in the healthcare
arena to identify and expedite transactions involving acquisition and licensing
of products and technologies as well as running specialist high level
negotiation courses for those involved in commercial negotiations. Clients include: Smith & Nephew plc,
